Pathways to Heritage Careers

Pathways to Heritage Careers is an event organized by the Council for Maryland Archaeology and hosted by the School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation and the Historic Preservation Program at the University of Maryland. 

This hybrid event includes a line-up of speakers and panelists who will share their personal career journeys and highlight the ways the heritage jobs have been expanding in the 21st century. This includes a Keynote from Dr. Cheryl LaRoche. Topics will include archaeology, anthropology, historic preservation, extended reality, computer animation, 3-D digital documentation, and more! After the speakers, in-person attendees will be able to visit with businesses and academic programs to learn more about education and career opportunities.

The event is focused on students from high school through graduate school. The event is Saturday, February 22, 2025; 9am-4pm, University of Maryland, College Park
School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation.
